What is proctored testing?

A proctored exam is an exam that is administered by an authorized individual who supervises the student while they are taking the exam. The proctor's function is to ensure the integrity and security of the exam in a secure testing environment.

What are my options?

You have three options to complete your proctored exam(s). Please choose one of the options below that best fits your needs. 

• Option A: Testing at a designated SPC location is free of charge.
  Students who are local can test at an SPC location. Students are required to make an appointment through the Test Reservation System. Test reservations are on a first-come, first-serve basis.

• Option B: Online Proctoring at home via Examity (Replaced ProctorU) (testing fee of $20 per two hour exam).

  Examity is a third party proctoring service that allows you to take proctored exams online from home using a webcam and a high speed internet connection. This option is available for all students.

  • Review the Examity page.

  • Pay for any testing fees.

  • Schedule your exam(s) at least 24 hours prior to the testing dates to avoid a late registration fee. You will need to use the Examity link listed on the homepage of your course under the Proctored Testing Widget to schedule and take your exam. 

• Option C: Testing at a Distance (testing fee is set by the testing location you choose).
  Students who cannot make it to an SPC location can take their exam (midterm, final, or placement) at a local college with a testing facility. Students who choose this option are required to fill out the Designate a Proctor Form.
